 Digital performer metronome, how can i hear quicktime sounds? |

I am running Digital Performer 3 on a G3 powerbook, and cannot get the metronome to give a sound, using the built in quicktime sounds. I've tried all of the obvious balloon help tips but no luck. Any suggestions?
