I have everything hooked up. All of the hardware is recognizing each other, and the software is recognizing the hardware. I just need an online tutorial or even the Cubasis VST manual. I can't find any of it online!! I just want to be able to even get a level on the software but it can't see it. To top that off, Cubase forums are offline right now temporially. What's the best way to learn the basics of this stuff?? (My version, I think, is VST 2.0, not the new 3.0 that comes with the interactive tutorial. Mine is listed as Cubasis VST US 428, and comes on a cd with the Tascam product)

Is there not a Cubasis manual in the electronic documentation on the CD that came with the 428? If not, I think there might be a download on the Tascam website. They do a really good support section for the 428 and 224, with loads of drivers, manuals, tips, FAQs etc, Check it out - www.tascam.com, I think.

Before I had posted, I had tried to access a manual on the Tascam CD which is the one i need. I couldn't open it however, because I the guy who just reinstalled Win 98 on my computer forgot to download Adoobe Acrobat Reader!!
I downloaded it, and now I can read it. In addition, I found a good video that some engineers created that teaches you how to learn Cubase SX. They say that it is also very good for Cubasis VST. They will also provide free unlimited e-mail support for users of Cubasis VST to ask questions about the differences between the two versions. It's $48 US and includes shipping from the UK. Click here: http://www.blueshiftstudio.com I am going to order it, because it is designed to get you up and recording quickly, but also goes into advanced features. Hope it helps someone else too! |
