I want to know if anyone has experienced unexpected shifting of takes from a prepared audio comp in the Arrange window of Logic 8. I am having a very frustrating experience working with an audio comp of a keyboard part that was recorded from three different takes. Toggling the region that contains the different takes and creating one beautiful take (a comp) from those takes in Logic 8 was quite easy and simply amazing. BUT, here comes the frustrating part. I realized that there were certain parts of my playing that occurs in the middle of phrases that I didn't want, so I decided to first, split the region (comp) in various sections, toggle each region and fade out the playing that I didn't want from the takes. This didn't seem to be a problem, because after I did the editing of the takes, closed each section of the chopped region, I listened to the perfect keyboard part that I wanted. I did a SAVE on my arrangement and listened a couple of more times NO PROBLEM. I closed Logic for a couple of hours. After reopening Logic and listening to my project I'm hearing parts of my audio keyboard comp are missing-specifically, from the last chopped region of the comp. Some of it plays....some of it doesn't. I toggled the region open and found two of the takes sitting about 20 bars further down the arrange window than from when I had initially saved my arrangement. This wouldn't bother me, but the takes can't be manipulated like a region. They are somehow clipped to the arrange window. This is why I don't understand how they moved in the first place!!! Does anyone know if there is a way to "unclip" the takes and manipulate them in the arrange window so I can place them back in their initial positions of the comp. This would be a HUGE help. Or, can someone possibly tell me why the takes shifted. I'm thinking I probably should have merged all the split regions of the comp after I heard everything OK; but who knows if that would have made a difference in the saving of the keyboard part or not. This has happened TWICE, and it was a lot of editing!!!!. So, I just want to understand what could possibly be going wrong and.....Happily finish my project!!! I would REALLY appreciate anyone's expertise on this delimna. And, to those who actually read this whole post and can be of help..... Many thanks, D. |
