 Notes Distorting & Cutting Off In Logic Pro |

Hi I have just set up my keyboard/controller to work with Logic Pro.
Everything seems OK except when I choose certain sounds. For example choosing ES1-Factory Setting-008-Synth-007-SYN Pure. Everything is fine and I can press as many keys as like I on my keyboard/controller without any problems. But if I choose- ES-2-Factory Setting-01-Pads-011-PD Male Choir HM. And if I try to play more than 2 or 3 notes on my keyboard/controller the notes just cut off and if I play even more notes there is horrible distortion/warbling noise and sometimes all notes can cut off playing. I realise my PowerBook is a under powered, could this problem be some kind of system overload or some other problem?
