QUOTE (theone @ Sep 14 2004, 17:03)

"Your problem is a common one and Apple has done a very poor job of describing how to fix it. I don't know if it was part of their program to wean us from 9 but you cannot use a 9 installation disk to get a bootable 9 machine if you have the mirror door. A 9 install disk can work for Classic but not booting into 9.

Hatter is correct that the only way you are going to get a dual boot machine back is to use the restore disks.

Depending on when your machine was made (which determines which restore disks work on your machine) you will have different options to restore 9.

If it was a current model(last couple of years) then your restore disk will not require a wipe and install. Simply put the #1 restore disk into the cd drive and you will get the option to install all the software or (by unchecking a box on the installer window) restore just system 9. I hope that you have this restore disk. There were some mirror doors prior to mid 2002 that had restore disks that required a wipe and install for installing 9. The full install will be to Jaguar and then you will have to upgrade. At least you will have a working boot 9 system folder.

By the way, once booted into 9, you can go to the good 9 system folder, open it, use command "a" (select all) and drag that system folder to another partition with an empty folder waiting. I have done this on my mac and it boots on that drag and dropped system folder. But as far as I know, you are going to have to wait for the restore disks to arrive."

Bon enfin moi je n'ai pas eu de souci en déplaçant le disque... cool.gif
