With Apple taking over emagic, i've decided to take the plunge and switch from a pc to a mac.
With PCs, it always made sense to get a system built by audio specialists, but surely this isn't necessary with a Mac? Does anyone have a standard list of tweaks that I should make with extensions manager to optimise my system, or is it worth paying a premium to get an audio specialist supplier to do it for me? (I'll be running Logic 5 with a logic controller & a MOTU 2048) Thanks |

you WILL be richly rewarded!
jaguar, altivec, imagic anyone? g5 for xmas dinner! motu, much as i love 'em, are dragging their heels at the moment. having utilised firewire way before anyone else "got it" they promptly lost faith in x! no audio drivers posted on their site for more than 6 months? a digidesign in the making! the best programmers will always win this game. oh yes, don't use extensions manager, use extensions overload 5.9.1 a great improvement on extensions manager. basically, quicktime, open transport, open gl, and the obvious other stuff should work, if you're booting from a partition that's optimised purely for music apps... -------------------- one for all and all for one...
