What upgrades are available to enable me to run GarageBand on an iMac 500 MHZ Indigo 128mb 20 Gig CDRW 56K?

The G4 has the Altivec instruction set, G3's do not.
Altivec speeds up multimedia processing, most audio apps are altivec optimized.  It will run on a G3 but not well, it even comes with lighter load G3 demo songs.
