The G4 has the Altivec instruction set, G3's do not.
Altivec speeds up multimedia processing, most audio apps are altivec optimized. It will run on a G3 but not well, it even comes with lighter load G3 demo songs. This post has been edited by gdoubleyou: Mon 28 Jun 2004, 18:22 -------------------- G-Dub
