is there a difference between logic pro 6 and logic pro 6 education, or does that just refer to an educational discount?

Retail Logic Pro is based on Logic Platinum. They just (primarily) bundled all their effects and instruments with it to make it Logic Pro.
That link you posted looks old. They talk about Logic Audio and VST support, and that the product will be released in April 2003. I think that info pre-dates the revamp of the Logic line last fall. If anything, the product they describe sounds like a predecessor of Logic Express. I'm still thinking that current retail vs. edu Logics are the same. -------------------- iMac G4 1.25ghz 512, iBook G3 600mhz 384, Logic Pro 6, Live 3, Edirol PCR-50.
