Hi, I have an protools Mbox with my 12" powerbook. I just ordered a fw drive to dedicate to audio (Lacie d2, 160 gigs) I am planning to use the fw drive for iMovie projects too and I was wondering if I should partition it to keep audio and video files separate or should i just leave it as it is?
Thanks! |

QUOTE I read on protools website that the mac drivers are good to format with but that you can't really partition with them. Would the lacie software that comes with the drive be good or would that cause problems with protools? I use LaCie Pocket Drives and I asked this very question on the Motu-Mac list before I got them. (I use DP3.11). Power users there were unanimous: DON'T use the LaCie Silver Lining drivers/software - use the Apple OS. I heard horror stories of partitions dying, data lost, etc. after formatting with LaCie. Could you please provide an URL to the Digidesign page where it says this?
