Hello folks...
I own a Fostex D-108 hard disc recorder, and I am now working with a friend who uses pro tools on his Mac. I'd like to connect my Fostex to Protools and dump song data back and forth, take my Fostex home, add some tracks, bring it back and dump the new files to his protools system.
I believe this is possible, but can someone tell me the best way to go about it? I want the metronomes in each unit to remain synced, of course!
Thanks for any help given!

You should set either ProTools or the Fostex to send MTC (MIDI Time Code).
The other one should be set to receive external sync (MTC).
You will also need to have a MIDI cable connected so that this MTC can be sent/received.
This will allow both computer and Fostex to Lock so when you play one the other will follow.

Do you need any more info than this?
Are you on OS 9 or OS X?
