I need to know how to use audio units. I'm a newbie and have no idea how to approach/begin using them.
How do I get them? What do I do with them? Where do I keep them? Why are they so good? Who can tell me ??? Thanx Toss -------------------- Emac 700 mhz, 640 mb ram, 40 gigs hd, OSX, Logic Gold 5.5, EXS24 mk2, Midiman keystation 49.

Audio Units are either Software instruments or effects.
Have a look at some of the links in the "Soft" section of this site Audio Units Also here http://st2n.com/daw/en/ There are a few free ones listed in these links. If you download them you will either have an installer which will place the audio unit in the correct location on your drive otherwise you may get an audio unit component which you have to manually move to Library->Audio->Plug-Ins->Components. There are also some great commercial ones available; Reaktor, V-Station, Moog Modular, Phatmatik Pro, Spectrasonics (Stylus, Atmosphere and Trilogy), Ohm Force, Virsyn (Cube and Tera) to name a few. When you have installed them start up logic and insert them in an audio instrument track or as an effect in any audio track. |
