I got a good deal on the Logic 5 big box, with intention to use it on OSX. I was aware of the free upgrade to 5.5 which is OSX native. That works fine but none of the bundled plugins/instruments work. Are these not OSX compatible yet, or did I waste my money on plugins I will never be able to use? I can't even run the install for them because I don't have OS9 installed under OSX, I don't even have an OS9 CD.

You should have no problem using the ES-1 synth, which is built into Logic. As for the plugs (EVP73 and EXSP24), I have yet to hear any concrete evidence, but it sounds like emagic might be porting these to Audio Units format, at which point you could get them for OSX for free. Check out this thread for more info. (the 'free' part is towards the end). Your other option is to pay for an upgrade to the EVP88 and EXS24mkII, which run as part of Logic.

Either way, you didn't waste your money, because the Big Box is cheaper than purchasing Logic Audio alone. Plus you get the ES-1 and the Xtreme Analog sample cd.
