I just got Cubase SX, and cannot get my Edirol UA-3D to work with it.
As far as I know, there is no ASIO driver for Edirol UA-3D, it works with the Core Audio. (I had success with this using Bias Deck and the Edirol.) When I launch Cubase, it automatically chooses the internal microhpone (of my TiBook). How do I change this? (How do I use a USB audio interface that does not have a dedicated ASIO driver?) If I go into "Device Setup" and then click the ASIO driver tab, the Edirol appears there, but when I try to select it I get a popup window syaing "No ASIO driver error." Help! Thanks! |

This sounds like the same as the problem I had using an EZbus with Cubase SX.
Apparently the problem is with the USB coding in SX. For some reason Steinberg ignored the USB specifications that say audio input and audio output should be treated as two distinct USB devices. Cubase SX can only recognise one device (the output) so you can't get USB audio in. All of us facing this crazy situation should let Steinberg know how we feel. (BTW, earlier today I posted a new topic asking if anyone knows when Steinberg will get around to correcting this.)
