i have been reading a book on how to use logic audio. there is a section in the book describing a specific way to set up midi devices in the environment. it says to create a multi instrument and then create a port object and cable them together... the only problem is, i cant find where you create a port object. i pulled down the "new" menu expecting to find "port object" but it is not there. how do you create a port object?

i am using logic audio platinum version 5.5 for osx if that helps.

Hi I am interested in this thread because I am in a similar situation, but with out the external drum machine. I have been able to get the synths loaded in the AudioInst channels, but I cant seem to get the Drums mapped loaded, or any of the other included synths in Logic Gold or just in the Quicktime or any other softsynth. If I play and record within the drum track, it records and I see the notes but there is no way to hear. Yet I can hear the ES2 when I play that. I am playing and it is working in both 9.2 and 10.2.
Thanks
