i have been reading a book on how to use logic audio. there is a section in the book describing a specific way to set up midi devices in the environment. it says to create a multi instrument and then create a port object and cable them together... the only problem is, i cant find where you create a port object. i pulled down the "new" menu expecting to find "port object" but it is not there. how do you create a port object?
i am using logic audio platinum version 5.5 for osx if that helps. |

If you are trying to play the sounds on your drum machine you won't hear them through the internal speaker. The sound from this comes out the line out or headphone out of your drum machine. Where have you connected the line outs of your drum machine? You can connect these to audio input of your mac and turn software monitoring on in "Audio hardware and drivers" and then you can hear the drum machine though your speakers.
If you are playing any software synthesizers on your computer (e.g. ESM, ESP etc in logic) you will hear sound through your internal speaker. |
