all great points, and i'll just say it's a piece of gear that i'm eager to put through it's paces. i'm inclined to agree with Oliver Chessler's (at his own blog's) observation that ipad will be a great music tool- because the iphone/ipod touch is already a great music tool. the ipad has to be a step up for me if only in this one way... the larger form factor and larger display. i'm 50, and my eyes aren't happy with the graphics possible on the tiny screen. added to that the possibilities for finer control of gestural controls, and even if it's only as powerful as an iphone/ipod touch i'm thinking it'll sail.
it's first generation. i'll look for open systems, infrared beam controllers, third party development to come soon. |
