This is getting ridiculous. With only 21 more days in the year, MOTU seems to be pushing its "4th quarter 2002" release of DP for OS X to max extreme limits.

Has anybody been in touch with them to find out why they are dragging their unicorn?

It may be carrion by the time they manage to get DP on the shelves.

Sad, sad, bad show performance out of the "Performer" is all I've got to say.

I tried X on a duplicate of my G4/466 and noticed 1) the computer seemed much slower, 2) I had to type in a password way too often, 3) there were a bunch of mysterious new files that can't be touched, 4) if you move an application folder you may be screwing things up, 5) we did screw things up, 6) applications, or the system, really need a uninstaller and most don't have them, 7) X version apps like Explorer, Photoshop, Outlook Express, Dreamweaver and a few others don't offer much in the way of improvement, 8) the X driver for the MAudio card we tried crashed the computer HARD...worse damage than any OS9 crash I ever saw. Then, we could get the offending files "uninstalled"...couldn't throw them away. Just like windows95!

Why doesn't MOTU just write a version of DP for Unix and skip all the Apple crapple?

I used to be a Mac advocate but X has taken away most of what I liked about them.
