let me put it simple. I am using Logic on osx. I have never used Logic for os9. I have no idea what VST is, and I dont care, since I won't be able to use it, unless its "carbonized", whatever this means.

So, do I HAVE to dish out another 300 dollars just to get new sounds? I have a friend who uses FruityLoops ( I know, on a PC ) and he gets whole libraries for free somehow... whats the alternative on macs? should I go back to os9 just to get free samples and sounds? or do I have to wait until a VST substitute comes out?

Because a day (soon) will come when I get tired of my keyboards built-in sounds... And a 30-day trial ( for the exs24, etc. ) is still a 30-day trial.

Have a look at http://www.bitshiftaudio.com/

pHATmatik is now available for OS X. It is a free REX file player in Audiounit format. You can then also search the web for free REX files.

Also, Logic is not supporting the VST format in OS X, just Audiounit.
