can somebody tell me how to install plug ins?? (vst´s and that stuff). which plug in is the one the makes the best quality sound?? ( 2 your ears)

If it doesn't have an installer, root library/application support/audio/plugins/ VST or if you have audio units, /components

how can i open .exe files?? do i have to have windows XP installed or is there any program that opens it?¿??¿
