Yes the RME is hammerfall.
If you have a grand look at the RME multifaceand PCI card. Or for the ultimate (and a higher price tag to match) an ADI-8DS and a Digiface. I tested the RME gear and a MOTU 896 side by side. The sound quality on the multiface was far better in my opinion. I was also able to play back more tracks at once with the Hammerfall and also the latency is lower with the hammerfall. Have a read of some of the reviews of the RME products on their website. Also Firewire isn't "faster" than PCI. Oh and by the way I am using RME products with logic. It works great.
