Hey everybody,

Thus far my studio is in its infancy, sporting solely an iMac and a Ion USB turn table. My question is this: what other key components should I be looking at?

I am going to get Logic pro (eventually) but don't know when to buy it. Do I buy a fire/m-box or do I spend money on a sick mixer or logic pro? When should I get speakers? etc...

Also, any suggestion on the order of purchase and what I need to purchase?

Thank you in advance for your responses.

hi drewot,

i think the first thing you need is a pair of monitor speakers, and if you have some money left, get an audio interface.if you're not planning on record more than 2 tracks at a time ,then with a 2 in 2 out interface should be ok,there are a few good choices out there, for the type of music you're after,i would recommend an entry level Pro Tools rig,you could get a deal buying an M-Audio interface + M-Powered Pro Tools, which is very easy to use,and an exellent tool for producing/editing.

good luck!.
