How do I format the HD on my Powerbook please. Should I Zero it? What does writting 0's do anyway

Once done do I just book it from the OSX install disk?

Peace and Many Thanks

If its your boot HD, you'll need to reboot with the install disk, then at the Install screen, the File (or Edit?) menu should contain the option to open Disk Utility. Do that. Navigate to the HD you want to erase, and erase. Writing 1's and 0's is only worth it for absolute security (ie. data irretrievability), but will TAKE A LONG TIME TO FORMAT. So, if you just wanna reformat the HD for a clean install, just do a normal format.
