hey, can anyone answer me this? just recently i bought a used dual g4 powermac on ebay because i want to run Pro tools version 5 on OS9 so i can get access to a bunch of plug ins that i only can get access using PT vs5. up until today i've been currently using version 6.4 on my powerbook with an mbox. i was wondering if i could use the mbox as the interface to run PT version 5 on the powermac? anyone know if this will work? if not, i'm getting a 001 interface soon because i know that works, but i was trying to avoid getting another interface, but i think i might need the pci card with 001 in order to access OS9 and vs 5 of PT? can anyone share any advice or suggestions? please!!!

Well, I've been running PT 5.2.1 with Mbox on an OS9 computer. It works. Check this out at Digidesign. Although I think that the info there is incorrect: Surely, all PowerMac G4 models are able to boot to OS9?!?
If you got the PowerMac and the Mbox, why just not try it out? You might already have the 5.2.1 installation disc in your Mbox package, since for quite some time it shipped with two version, on for OS9 and one for OSX.
Good luck!
