Hi im currently doing my disertaton on interactive music production DVD-Roms and for my research section i need to provide evidence that the program I develop should be PC and Mac compatable does anyone know where I could find some uk or worldwide sales figures for both PC and Mac computers?

further I would also like to know how many people are using macs for music prodution, any information on this subject would be gratefully recieved

I have basically narrowed it down to income brackets. Most pros and people with really good salaries tend to use Macs. People who are trying to go budget usually use PC. At least as far as music production goes. Yeah, Macs are more expensive and all, but they are really good to work with when it comes to audio. I have used both and prefer Mac. Many of the things that you take for granted are built right into the OS on a Mac. Things like MIDI and audio interface admin. The result is a slightly higher price tag, but a more stable audio production platform. As far as sales figures go, the Mac is a minority due to the fact that it's userbase has requirements that are also a minority. I mean, serriously, how many Recording Engineers are walking around these days? Or, how many CGI people do you run into? Etc, etc.
