Hi Guys,
Somehow I can't upgrade to 10.3.9. Anytime I try to open the installer on the install CD, OS X restarts with OS 9, and it says the CD is not a startup disc!!! I also tried to install it from the CD without rebooting, but OS X won't let me, giving me the only option to restart, and then I can't do anything from OS 9! S.O.S.!!! ![]() thanx, ciao, Iro. |

iroiri,
What is the version of the startup disk control panel in the OS 9 system folder -> control panels? It will need to be v9.2.1 or better to be able to see a Mac OS X volume as a startup device. Also, what version of Mac OS 9 is installed? It should be 9.2.1 or better (9.2.2 is the latest version and should have a compatible version of the start up disk control panel). Otherwise, I'd follow lepetitmartien's advice on checking the install CD to see if it functions on another mac. As another option, if you boot the G4 and hold down the option key, you should get the start up manager. It will show you all available boot volumes, regardless of OS versions. What version of Mac OS X do you have alerady installed on the G4? Cheers, deacon -------------------- |
