My issue concerns MIDI playback on Logic Express 7.01. I can actually record MIDI into Logic fine. You can see that the notes are actually recorded. The problem comes in playback. I simply cannot hear the MIDI play when I play the song back. I just know it's something simple that I can't figure out. I am using an M-Audio Ozonic interface with Logic Express. MIDI playback works just fine in GarageBand. Hmmm...

If you can provide me with any help, I will post an article on the web for all future users who run into this issue. Thank you for any help possible!

Thanks!

The Environment is where Logic deals with all it's midi, amongst other things. Essentially if you open the envorinment window and go to the midi instr. layer instead of the audio layer ( on the left hand side, a pop up ) you want to see an object here for your midi synth.

Have you discovered the Apple program 'audio midi setup' yet? you need to enter your midi devices into here first, it's the first point of entry for midi into your system...very easy to use.

Once you have made a device in here for your synth, restart Logic and as if by magic the environment will contain an entry for your synth...then you just need to select the right track in the arrange window and you're done.

Good luck smile.gif
