Has anyone tried Tiger on a slow machine? I have a TiBook 550 with 1GB ram and am considering an upgrade. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

Generally speaking mac OS-X has actually gotten real speed bumps along the major
releases. (perhaps not always dramatic speed increases - but still...) Tiger is no exception to this rule. Reports from various users on the Unicornation BBS seem to indicate that Tiger is indeed a bit snappier than Panther.
