just recently bought an eMac with Logic express software and have a Midi Keyboard. Iwas told to link the two I must buy a USB MIDI interface but with this I dont get the sounds from my keyboard saved into Logic instead just information as MIDI, How do I correct this problem would i need an audio interface? if so what is the difference between the two in terms of recording

If your output is properly set to your built-in speakers or external speakers and still hear now sound then you will need to do one of the following, which will tell the computer to generate a sound from your MIDI keyboard.

- Create an EXSP24 Track. Create a new Instrument track. Set it to EXSP24 and then chose an imported SF2, EXS file et cetera or use one from the factory. If your keyboard is plugged in proplerly (it is if you see the midi information) you should hear the sound you selected.

OR

- You can use the Quick Time Synth. I don't recommend this seeing as the quality isn't all that great. To do this you'll need to create a MIDI track and then to go the enviornment and create a new Object as Quick Time synth. Then connect this with one of your ports.
