"We are the world, we are the children...." (sing Michael, sing...). Sounds familiar?... Well... Some of our French members came up with a crazy idea (yes, Frogs can be crazy too). We are about to release a CD to support MacMusic. All the big big $ made with it will go directly to MacMusic. If some of you englishmen, americans, australians, tahitians, whateverians could participate, that would be good news ! So basically, the idea is to give away one of your audio treasure (I mean a song, an instrumental...) knowing you won't get paid in return. Ain't that exciting?...(who said NO?!...). You will of course remain the only owner of all rights regarding this piece of work. If you're interested (and know how to write a song), please send me an email. Thank you for your attention. (who said "Bite me!" ?....).

Perhaps posts with the links should be removed? For a good cause, after all.

Hi guys, I've received many offers (musical ones!) via mail... I'm getting overwhelmed...... Anyway, if, as Add9, you wish to directly send me your song by email, please do it using the format: AIFF/44.1/16 (if you really can't, I'll perform the conversion). "Stuff it" if possible... Wait...no... you'll still have to send me an email first (so that I can reply and give you my eamail address) since mails via the forum don't provide attachements option. And PLEASE, just send me ONE email not two or three ("forgot to say", 'BTW, did I mention"...). My mail box is already suffering a lot. Thanks guys! Regarding the mastering thing, once again, it will mostly consists in some levelling of the songs...that's it... I don't have time to perform EQ, comp, limitation or anything else... Furthermore, I'm not sure the artists would appreciate ! (-;

i'd like to contribute to the cd, but i use dp3 and feel all excluded! while i've found GREAT forums for troubleshooting for dp3, (motu-mac and digital performer yahoo groups), there is no cd collaboration recently, though i know they did one a while back for 9/11. i wandered over to you guys and tho i dont use logic or cubase, find the tone of this website unpompous and helpful contextually, so thanks to you all. BTW, i'm in Italy. cheers, or salut! michael

You should be able to bounce down the DP3 tracks into a stereo AIF or WAV file.
Then send that file to your collaberators and they load it up into Logic or Cubase and add their stuff.
Then they bounce down their tracks (excluding the track you sent them) into a stereo AIF or WAV file and send that to you which you load up into DP3 to mix with your original unbounced tracks.
It's possible to collaberate cross-platform. Just a little more inconvenient.
