I'm looking for some recommendations as to where to get a Sony TCD-D8 DAT 'Walkman' repaired - specifically in the London area (ideally SE).
In the past I've used Sony's Repair Centre @ Heathrow, but they no longer support repairs to their DAT range. Last year I used a company listed on Sony's website as a recommended "local repair agent", based in Essex (mentioning no names), who took 7 months to repair one of our DATs - which was utterly frustrating. |

your name rings a bell !! Weve used Synchrotech in Camden to regulalrly fix and service our tascam dats dont know of they do sony though - I gather the dat walkmans are a bit of a nightmare to get fixed. They are straight up about timing and parts and cost - though I wish they could put a different headphone amp in ours as it blows every year and a half best mick ritchie barefoot studios |
