You will have to get yourself an audio interface.

you live in london, go to the apple store and buy one in a midi keyboard, otherwise go to the apple store on the info superweb and buy one on there

There are different midi keyboards.
1 Regular midi keyboards (midi in and out). No audio in, no usb out. 2 Midi keyboards with built in midi to usb interface. No audio in. 3 Midi keyboards with built in audio and midi interface. To connect a guitar, you need the 3. alternative, e.g. the inexpensive M-audio Ozone. Another option is to buy an audio/midi interface where you can both connect you guitar and your midi keyboard. The Tascam us 122 is a popular and inexpensive choice. Edirol UA-20 is another option. Be aware that not all audio interfaces have mic preamps. Jan Erik |

Go to Guitar Center or an equivalent store that sells recording equipment. They'll have a wide range of options.

Is the audio in that came with it broken? The eMac has audio in.

i thought i'd never come across someone who thought they could run audio through a midi lead again! god bless you, but anyway make sure you read erstokke's post about midi interface types before you buy one..

Yo Guitar God,
As someone who actually knows the differance between midi and audio, you have a long way to go. Midi and audio are not the same thing, and unless you plan on running alot of synth thingies, or at least a midi ready guitar, you are in big trouble. You need an audio interface (and to be perfectly honest, a real mac). The e in emac stands for educational. Not to say what you've got won't do.. it's just not going to do what you expect. I don't know what all ports an emac has, but if it don't have firewire, you are going to be very dissapointed. If it does have an audio in port (should have) that's all you are really going to need for now. -------------------- kaboombahchuck
