Chuck works off the command line so some rudimentary unix skills and a good programming text editor are required. For the longer term use knowledge of mathematics and techniques of sound creation would also be needed.
Chuck comes with a range of sound creation routines and commands however the composition aspect for creating a score seems less obvious in comparison to CSound.
