I have a G4 Cube and a Opcode Studio 5 lx. I have OMS 2.8 running and a belkin USB serial adapter but OMS wont recognise my Studio 5 lx midi interface when it scans for devices. Any thoughts on the best way to link my serial studio 5 to my USB mac ?

I guess external USB/serial adapter dont work properly for MIDI. You better have to by a "stealth port"
http://www.geethree.com
which worked for me an tons of people to get midi on their mac. FYI It replaces the internal modem
