I was wondering where one could find cheaper memory and disc space upgrades for macs? Upgrading to two gigs of memory just doesn't seem proper at 750$. Because with a PC it only costs like 400 dollars.
For hard drives will any serial ata work? If so I'm going to buy one from a whole saler for cheap. I'm only asking these questions because I'm about to buy my first mac. I'd really like to know what options I have for the upgrades. I figure my current Dell 19" LCD will work for a monitor, and I'm sure if I need a graphics card upgrade I can use any agp card. Please help a mac newb out ![]() -maz |

For RAM, don't cheat, buy mac certified RAM. PC RAM may work but as PCs are slightly less demanding on RAM (at least the vendors
![]() For hard drives, as long as it is serial ATA (you naughty you have a G5, I hate you already ![]() The screen will work ok, you have an adapter ADC to VGA with the mac and there's a DVI port too. You can even have 2 screens… ![]() the card… well, if you need a third screen maybe, but buy then a mac compatible crad. Not all model have mac support! there are some tricks available but it's not for the newbie.
