That's interesting indeed. I have week 11 Macbook Pro with whine. After reading this news I'm not sure if I should call Apple repair to request MLB change. I have no problems other than whine. The whine is becoming louder with every OSX update. I don't know the normal temperature but my avarege is 60-70C with moderate CPU load. I also don't have Apple Care. Any advice?

I just got one of the 17" MacBook Pros and this baby hasn't made a peep! It's so quiet. I think they may have got these new ones going out.

I received my MBPro on May 16. It's absolutely quiet. The only noises it makes are: The expectable momentary clicking and whirring of the hard drive when I first boot the machineThe characteristic "ringing" sound of the sudden-motion sensor when I move the unit with the lid closed in sleep mode
I'm very happy with it! Vito
