This driver can only be used with OS 10.4 which already has an aggregated devices set up.
Why not make a driver for OS 10.3 or earlier?

Correct! however, the mic pre seems really cool and something anyone can use, however would you have to connect all the outputs to a mixer, or could you bus a left and right from all the available outputs?

Tiger has aggregated devices ability, but I have searched and searched and no one who's posted around the internet seems to have done this themselves so they could run say, 96k on it - on multiple and have success... so I'm not sure if it would work on not - despite what Apple says. I'll just be glad when I buy a Powermac and the high-pitched whine I have with it will cease. Since it was a problem with the computer processor, I'm sure the switch to Intel will change it significantly.

would be cool if they made one for the firebox, or mixed firebox/firepod groupings - then it would be a truly modular system, and i would know that if i needed more inputs at any time, i just buy another 'fire-thing' that adds either 4 or 8 analog ins depending on what i end up needing, especially with the firebox being now only $299!

(on that note i could grumble that i paid $100 more than i could have, but hey, i got some good use out of mine this summer. And it served me well in my performance tonight!!)

If you have tiger, you can put any combination of Firepods/Fireboxes you'd like.

Yes, but what kind of CPU overhead does using aggregated devices in tiger create? is syncing the interfaces' clocks a substantial drain on the processor? just curious. I guy i know apparently got a bunch of iMics running with it for 8 channel lo-fi stuff, but i dont know the intensity of the processing he was doing in realtime.
