It's hard to think that apple would start promoting a $500 G4 when their iMac G5 is stylish and likely to bring them a lot bigger profits. but i know a ton of people who would LOVE to fill their homes with many macs, get one for each kid, etc.
of course, new versions of IDVD and GarageBand (and Logic, natch) should push folks' desire to own the fastest mac they can afford.
it will be neat to see what happens with the new FW audio interface. but i'd also like to have more choice in where all my apple loops and EXS instruments are stored
