There are some issues posted about Firewire 800 problems on MacInTouch
[12:00 EST] Our new Mac OS X 10.3.6 report discusses issues with FireWire drives following the update, plus Calculator problems and a variety of other issues. We strongly advise not installing the update without a complete, valid backup, and keeping FireWire disks disconnected initially. (And please let us know how the upgrade works for you.)
