I just bought a Digidesign Chassis (7 slot), and i discovered in the 'TDM expansion Guide' that only G3 and G4 are supported, and that the 9600 is not 'recommended'.

BUT
It works great with it :-)
I’ve tested stressing sessions (64 track, with lot of plugs and automation) and it seems fine.

Does anyone know why the 9600 is not supported?
Is there a specific situation that create problems with this chassis, or Digidesign  just didn’t tested it and prefer to claims that it’s 'not recommended'?

Anymore infos would be greatly appreciated:
I don’t want to change from my 9600 which is rock solid, full of serial and PCI slot, to a new G4. And it become quite difficult to find an ‘old’ (recommended) chassis.

I would be happy if someone could confirm that this chassis works FINE with a 9600.

my Config:
- PowerMac 9600/G3 512Mega RAM
- AttoSCSI+DC30+2VideoCard
- 7 slot Digidesign Chassis(SBS DD007-R)
- 1 MixCore + 2 MixFarm + 1 Scell
- Protools 5.01

I just received an answer from Digidesign. They say that's it's not recommended because they disn't tested it with the 9600.

In my case, it seems to work fine. :)
Any user experience?

Not even a problem since January.

This chassis works fine with a 9600 (with NewerTech G3 card)!
