Hello, Does anyone know of a serial controller that works well in OSX. It can be a card or USB device. Either will do. Thanx.

There's something already on this somewhere here (magical button of search…)

Both manufacturer of serial port options for non-serial port mac have drivers in OSX that works, more in the threads.

Also, USB is a serial protocol, but uses USB ports, not serial ports wink.gif

Also too, this thread was not in the proper place wink.gif

Friend,

I got one of these, and I can't tell you how awesome it is to have bought something that worked the first time. It's a small card that plugs into the motherboard on your tower where the internal modem would go. It gives you the 'old' Mac serial port on the back where the RJ11 phone jack would go if you were using an internal modem. Of course, if you are using an internal modem on your system, you'll have to take it out. biggrin.gif

Best of all, it was only around $35. I got it for use with my MIDI Timepiece II, works great for MIDI interfaces. Works perfectly in X and 9.

Finally, the manufacturer is very cool if you ever need support.

Good luck! Check this out...
