Hi,
I've got a Macbook 2 Ghz 2GB ram, with different software for music, ive got the MOTU 828mk2, i wanted to use it for live performances, with my band. Can anyone help me for effects?I'm lookin for a sound like Robert Fripps Frippertronics for some songs, and a sound like ZZTop, and Pink Floyd, and if anyone knows also how to have a sound like TOOL.
Thanks loads

You were kinda vague, so the advice won't be spot on. For Frippertronics stuff, a looper (expert sleepers Augustus Loop) and some kind of pitch shifter (some DAW's etc. have some form of this). For Top and Floyd, an overdrive (like Ruby Tube for example) will help or you might want to go for iZotope's Trash plug-in. You could go whole hog and get Guitar Rig 2 or Amplitube 2 and cover all those bases in one program. I find GR 2 to be more flexible, but both are nice. Your software may have eq, delay and reverbs built-in.

I personally use either Live and some of the above plug-ins or Pro Tools and the Sansamp plug-in, in addition to some Moog plug-ins and TL Space, to get most of what you're seeking.

You may also want to check out the POD and Tonelab and Boss hardware units.

Hope that helps.
