Hello!

I have Live 5.02 I want to upgrade for Live 6. I was wondering if my computer will be able to run it without click and pop and silence like it happend sometimes with Live 5. Will it be the same or worst?

I have a PowerBook G4 1GHz, 768 Meg RAM, Mac Os 10.3.9, Mbox and no Vst at all.

Thanks!

It's about the same, I have a 1GHZ powerbook and didin't notice much difference.

Where I did see difference between Live5 and Live6 was on my core duo mini, because of the added support for dual proccessors, so much so that I really haven't attempted to use it on my Powerbook lately.

I finally got to a point about 6 months ago where I was happy with 5.02 by just learning to work around its obstacles with my G4 Powerbook. Live 6 sounds pretty cool though I can't help but wonder if it is even worth the upgrade without getting a dual processor Mac.

hummmm... that's a good question!

They did add instrument racks, that allows you to save combinations of virtual instruments/effects for use in other songs.

Also the new sampler is interesting, but I have all my samples in EXS format.

check out the Ableton site for details.

hey i just upgraded to 6 as well on my 1ghz G4 ibook. as far as pops and such, it still happens, although it DOES seem a bit less, honestly. but maybe that's in my head because i absolutely love the new and upgraded features in 6. I do have to say that i can't wait to upgrade to a core 2 duo machine, but i was still wanting that when i had 5.2. i say go for the upgrade!

I haven't really had any problems with pops in almost a year. Partly I started running my loops off of an external HD but also because I increased my samples per second in preferences (which also increases latency but I can't tell the difference really).

oohhh... those are good ideas!
