Is it possible to import standard MIDI files into DP 4.0 or 4.12?

If so can some one tell me how?

I notice the " hit command+I , and choose 'Open with' DP" suggestion. Will this work on a Mac?

Yes, you can set the default program to open any file by:

Press "Command (Apple) I" > "Open With" > Select Application > "Change All".

You can also open any file with a selected application by Control-Clicking the file and follwoing the "Open With..." dialogue.

The only thing to watch for is that you don't do anything silly like setting Text Edit as the default app to open QuickTime movies.

Do you have a cracked version? DP only works on Mac. wink.gif

You can set the open with properties, and permissions of any file type from the get info dialog.

just checked, Open from the file menu works fine for standard midi. No need to import. Drag and drop also works.

Yes, this has been a basic Mac feature since...., oh I don't remember, it's a long time ago. smile.gif

Let me ask you this: Did you download that MIDI file with Safari?
There's some problem with Safari, if you did.
Use Firefox or something else for downloading MIDI files to be used on DP.

Great, so try any methods I've said earlier. It should work.

Another thing, if you want to know that a MIDI file is good or bad, play it with Quicktime.
