Hi all,

I am trying out Logic express Demo version and planning to buy the Pro 7.

I am getting a playback problem when interfaced with echo layla 24/96 via cardbus on g4 powerbook 1.5Ghz, 1.25GB RAM.

The audio tracks seem to play alright. But when the sequencer is stopped in the middle of the song over audio clips, I get a very fast loop of the underlying audio samples. The loop is so fast that it sounds like a buzz.
The setup however, works like a charm with mLAN on my Motif.

mLAN was not connected when the "buzz" occurred after the sequencer was stopped.

Things I did to rectify this problem:
Reinstalled layla drivers then logic express demo
Checked layla interface with iTunes, Garage band and the problem did not occur.
connection or disconnection of mlan does not seem to make a difference.
Sample frquency and bit rates are ok in the AudioMIDI and logic.
Can anyone please shed some light on the possibilities? I really like Logic and I hope this stickler can be fixed berfore I can buy it.

thanks

Remind me something on noise issues on powerbooks… can someone help? unsure.gif

i dont think this is a noise-issue ... we had one with a wireless mouse and the other ages ago with the power supply ...

and this playing the same frame over and over again-loop buzz ... could this be this audio-scrubbing-thing where you move the cursor back and forth and the sound plays back and forth (sorry me ingles isnt that good at all)

try to isolate the "problem" eg. with one audio-track
check the preferences...

lepetitmartien and divan,

Thanks for your responses.

I kind of thought of the same thing as divan suggested.

However, there seems to be no problem with playback when monitored thro' mLAN.

So I guess mLAN and Logic are playing well together; except for a ground loop in the system and I can't seem to help that. However it is not causing any audio disturbance.
