Hi
I have just bought a mac book and logic pro 7. For the moment while I am learning, I only want to use the internal soundcard. For some reason, I can play audio through the built in output but cannot record any audio from an external source such as my 1210's/mixer?
I've tried setting the input in the audio drivers section but it will only let me choose the built in output as a driver.
Any ideas anyone?
Thanks
Kev

Strangely enough I had this exact same problem with a student 2 days ago.
Go to Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup. Click on the Audio Devices tab, and select Open Aggregate Device Editor from the Audio menu bar.
A dialogue box should open. Click the "+" sign to create a new aggregate device. A new box should open listing all available ins and outs from your machine. Assuming you're using the built-in Line Input and Line Output, click to tick both these and select "Okay", "Apply" or whatever.
Your Audio MIDI setup should now have a new aggregate device available for selection.
In Logic, go to the Audio > Audio Hardware and Drivers dialogue box and select this aggregate device. Logic will require a soft relaunch to start using this, but once this is done, you should have 2 inputs and 2 outputs available for your audio tracks.
Sorry if some our my terminology is a bit off, this is a 10.4 feature and I'm writing on a 10.3 machine with no Logic.
I hope this helps Kev!
