When I launch DP 4.5, I am getting the message: "Digital Performer is unable to run, because the MIDISystem has crashed. Please quit any programs that are using MIDI, and try again."
I am using a MAC G4 with OS 10.3.9.
I have never seen this before, and have been using 4.5 for quite a while.
Does anyone have any help or suggestions?

Thank You
azusa
I'd redo the AMS setting. While you're at it, why not update it to DP 4.6.1.

I can't open DP at all. I tried reinstalling it, and still get the same error message when I try to open DP.
Also, where is the AMS setting located?

I found AMS, but the changes I made did nothing. I also updated to 4.61, and that didn't help either.
Is there anything else I can do, trash preferences maybe?

I figured out what the problem was. I have an M-Audio Firewire Solo, but it wasn't hooked up. I uninstalled the software, and DP opened just fine. I have used the Solo with DP many times, and had no problems. What am I missing? Shoudn't the Solo work with no problem?

Mhmm I'd try the pref files, the system cache related to audio… remake the set up in Audio MIDI set up…

If now you install back the driver is it the same?

Is the driver the latest (always check)?

Have you repair permissions (Apple disk utility) and done an update prebinding (with OnyX for exemple, that you can use to clear caches)?

Does the interface shows ok in Audio MIDI set up and the sound system prefpanel?
