Could someone please help me?

Something went wrong with my Classic environment.

Now every sound played back via a Classic (OS 9) application (whether it be
old games like Unreal, Deus Ex, AvP in Classic Mode (OSX version works fine),
or QuickTime 6, or Absynth...)
is 70% too slow. (=a tritone too low).

Since OSX, I have lost track what Classic files could be responsible for that
and where they might be located.

Can anyone help me out??

Many thanks in advance...

i had a similar problem with one app. It was because classic did not talk well with my firebox. I set the default output to built-in sound and it worked fine.

Thanks, Arvid, but my output is already set on "built-in" and the problem affects all Classic applications.

I suspect some vital file got corrupted somehow.

I was just having a nostalgic phase and played some old (OS9) games. It happened
between two runs of Unreal and I thought it was the game that was broken
– reinstalled it completely and then noticed that every Classic application
behaved like that.

Same problem here, happened without warning, no new installs or anything... Classic audio is a mess now. Can't fix it.

SOLVED!

What did the trick:

Start GarageBand.

Quit GarageBand.

Got the solution from Apple discussions. Dont't know why, but it worked. biggrin.gif
