Emac G4 1.25Ghz. Focusrite Saffire. Cubase l.e. Logic Express 7.2 Carillon firewire 400 hard drive 250 Gb.

I just bought a hard drive. It came with no instructions whatsoever, and double clicking on its' icon also revealed no instructions. It has, however, been formatted to OSX.

After a while, it seemed to close down automatically, even though I had (to my knowledge) done nothing to cause this.

What should my first step be? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
