Hi , i would like to know if there is some way to put my DIGI001 PciCard in any of the G5 models, 'cause i'm happy with it and i don't care to swap it with a DIGI002.....:-)

From what I undestand, the PCI card of the 001 is NOT compatible with a G5. The G5 accomodates only 3.3 volt cards.
refer to this Answerbase article for further details.
I do not know if it will work with a Magma expansion chassis, but I think the cost involved would outweigh saving your 001 card.

Hope that helps,

The card will not work in a G5, and neither will the hardware-specific version of ProTools that you need to run a 001. Digidesign is no longer developing the 001, so it won't ever be made compatible with the G5.

When I updated from a G4 tower to a Powerbook, I used Digidesign's Hardware Exchange program to upgrade my 001 to a 002 rack. Instead of the normal $1200 price for the rack, the trade-in cost $795. It doubles the sample rate, doubles the number of preamps, and updates you to the newest software version for what was a pretty reasonable price to me.
