I'm looking for a program that will trigger midi or audio loops, by pressing a key on my laptop. It must be able to wait until the end of a phrase or pattern (8 bar loop for example ). It must be able to continue to loop until triggered by my keyboard (laptop or computer keyboard). Does anyone know of a program that will do this. Vision does this in Mac Classic, but I haven't found anything for Mac OS X.

Ableton Live 4 does that,
you can trigger samples and midi from your laptop keyboard, you can actually assign anything to anything in Live 4
